Zen Thai Massage

From India to Thailand adaptations have been made to the art of Thai massage beginning over 2,500 years ago. For centuries, Thai massage was performed by monks as one component of Thai medicine. Traditional massage and Thai massage have very few similarities but maintain the common goal of wellness.
Thai massage is preformed on a traditional padded Thai floor mat and the client remains fully clothed. There are no lotions or oils used. The therapist uses her hands, knees, legs, elbows and feet to move the client into a series of yoga-like stretches. Thai massage is often compared to yoga movements without any work, a meditation in motion.
Muscle compression, joint range of motion, stretching, acupressure, aromatics and mediative motions are common techniques used in this modality.

Traditional table massage

Most common massage is a performed on a massage table where the client is undressed to their level of comfort and lotions, oils, and aromatics can be used. There are a few standard deviations to the table massage including:
Relaxation massage
Deep pressure massage
Trigger point pressure
Sports massage
Pregnancy massage
Hot stone massage
Aromatic massage
PNF stretching
Different techniques or modalities can be implemented depending on the individual client needs. Talk to your massage therapist or a healthcare practitioner to see what is best for you.

Chair Massage

A great alternative to traditional or Thai massage when on the go, at the office, sporting events. Client is fully clothed and seated while the therapist performs a shorter, energizing massage.
